Perpetual Motion

The McKenzie River, a tributary of the Willamette River, has some of the bluest water I’ve seen yet. This particular stretch is located near Koosah Falls. I used a 10-stop filter and exposed this image for 30 seconds so that I could smooth out the water. The title of this image, meanwhile, is a tip of the cap to Scottish explorer Donald Mackenzie, for whom the river is named. Mackenzie’s nickname was Perpetual Motion.
