Chile

After a long day of rain, extreme wind, and challenging conditions, the clouds finally loosened their grip over the skies above Torres del Paine in Chile. The winds, though, remained difficult to deal with. If I was going to have any chance of successfully capturing this scene, I had to find a way to stabilize my camera system and the 240mm lens I needed for this image. As luck would have it, there was a small shrub nearby that I could use as a wind block. So, I set up my gear and waited patiently until the light and clouds were positioned just right. This mountain range remains one of my favorite places to chase light in Patagonia. And this image is proof positive that Mother Nature rocks.
