Forbidden Beauty
Page, Arizona
This shot really demonstrates the beauty of the sandstone walls in Antelope Canyon. Located on land in the Navajo Nation, the woman, located right in the middle of the frame (with her long neckline and flowing hair), is known as “Lady in the Wind” by the Navajo people who live in the area. I call her “Forbidden Beauty.” The light starts above the slot and bounces from each side of the wall, becoming more saturated with each downward reflection. By doing a long exposure, I was able to capture the deep, rich colors that are available in this part of the canyon.
