Hawaiian Punch Sunset

This abstract is made to look like the ocean (blue) with the sun setting (pink in the sky). I love painting with my camera. Rainbow eucalyptus trees, which are typically found in warm, tropical areas of the Northern Hemisphere, have colorful exteriors that make them extremely photogenic and extremely well suited to these kinds of abstracts. Here, I did a pan with my camera at a fairly slow shutter speed, so that it turned the rainbow eucalyptus bark into long streaks of color. The technique gives this image the look of a watercolor painting.
