Twilight

Location: Argentina (Patagonia)

Night begins to fall over Southern Patagonia. Anyone who has photographed the Fitz Roy Massif can tell you this much: you never know what you’re going to get in this part of the world. The unpredictable weather and howling winds, which roar across the plains, can be frustrating. But when everything lines up, it’s a beautiful, spectacular place that is unrivaled. Indeed, when conditions are perfect, as they are here, there is no other place on the planet I’d rather be watching the sun drop below the horizon.

I captured this image while there were still a few hints of light remaining, giving the viewer a final look at this amazing, rugged landscape before it disappears into the night.
